The Prima Ballerina
shares her studio
with The Tulip on a sill.
Pirouette and plié!
she dances for herself.
The Tulip dances for her too.
It pretends
to be her skirts.
Tutu Tulip.
Swaying gallantly with
every glissade.
Sudden allegro!
Rushes her! Pointy-toed
and leaping!
The Tulip, too slow,
aches to catch-up.
To move in unison-dance.
Sways foolhardy stem,
causes bulb to blunder,
and The Tulip to crash.
Cracked bowl, weeping roots
reach for the Ballerina
who is ignorant of The Tulip,
for sake of the music.

Simply Beautiful

Beautiful
I like the way you portrayed the Ballerina.. so witless of everything but her dancing, and the Tulip trying to be as perfect as she.. but ever the less a mere leap away from absolution. Very concrete imagery, the picture is almost unnecessary but adds a great flare.

ahh!
Now this is lovely!
i could see each and every movemnt in my eye, and i guess that is what made me love the poem so much.
That picture is just superb !
The alliteration in
"Swaying gallantly with
every glissade."
.. was just stunning, it just made it so easy to picture that happening!
I think its perfect as is, any longer would just drag it on
Always a pleasure to rewad your work.
