Perfection Everywhere

A house which stands divided
is certain then to fall,
until we learn the love of God
was meant for one and all.

We think the circle's fractured
by our Ego's frantic ways,
but never fear, God's ever near,
He's with us all our days.

The colours of the rainbow,
combined create pure light,
the ultimate perfection,
which is glorified in sight.

Step into the Universe,
the circle of the Sun,
and passing Mars,
review the Stars,
perfection everyone.

Travel at the speed of light
twelve million miles a minute,
you'll look back at our galaxy
and see perfection in it.

And when we think the Sacred Hoop
is bent beyond repair,
its merely an illusion,
there's perfection everywhere.

Author notes

Of course 12million miles a minute for the speed of light is poetic licence, but it is near enough for our purposes, before you all get your calculators out. 186,000miles (per second) X 60 = ( I have worked it out but for the sad people who need exactitude, do the sums).

    Hello Marion
I was just reading some old works and stumbled across one of your lovely comments to me, I have been leaving you alone because i feel that is what you need/want at the moment, but I have never/will never forget you
    Much Love David

  • oh i would love to just give up this body and let my mind out and then go searching for real, not just in imagination, to search the universe as thought. to go wherever i wished and witness all the wonder. a good poem, hehehe did i see ego mentioned.

Thanks Ian, I'm sure one day we will do that, once we leave that pesky Ego, (oops! I've mentioned it again, dam it,) behind

your poem truly filled my heart with joy !
I love the playful and joyful way you have used rhyme and meter to make your verse jump with joy ... your words are wisdom wrapped in light-heartedness, with the power to lift even the heaviest burden from the subtle auric layers that might be charged with old beliefs, fears and negativity that the mind tends to create on its earthly voyage ...

the last stanza touched me beyond measure ...
thank you for having responded to the contest-prompt in such a wise and loving manner ...

    much love

  • Beautifully penned. It may be difficult to comprehend the idea of perfection everywhere, but it becomes much clearer when one moves closer to nature and really stops to look, listen and ponder.
I truly enjoyed this piece, thank you for sharing.

Thankyou so much for reading my poem, I totally agree with you about nature, it is already perfect, it's only our lack of understanding which sees imperfection Regards David (another old codger,LOL)

  • A wonderful entry. hmm.. 'there's perfection everywhere' - hard to believe. But, there is perfection in the laws of the universe, we just don't understand them.

  • your rhyme is just beautiful
from One light are so many beautiful colors
    different but the same,
merely an illusion to witness, to grow
    purpose
    beautiful write
    God bless you my friend...

    • Thankyou Kathy, your words and opinion are so important to me and much appreciated

    • So glad you liked it Pixie, if I may quote from- ''The Goose is out'' by W.G.Gabb.

''If we want to see things differently, we have first of all to be different. That is why ''The Buddha '' said - ''first be what I am and then you will see what I mean''.
      Regards David
