Do you remember
That once upon a time
Where you first found love
In that bitter heart of mine
It was so long ago, since
My first wish-upon-a star
I never really had believed
A dream, so bizarre.
But softly, through the years,
That wish had stole a-way,
Sinking in those covered wounds
The hope of love's cliche.
And to my sorrows wake
Came, the fleeting chance,
To spin our own fairy tale
A lie of our romance.
My heart had skipped a beat
With every time you neared,
But now, with all the hurt inside
My love seems so unclear.
I put you on my broken heart
I framed your every word,
I gave you all my world
Still, you needed more.
Now the truth is seen
And clearly you've portrayed;
Never was I good enough
For you to ever love.
So here I take what's left of me,
Along with all my heart's debris.
Grateful of the lie we shared, knowing;
Not everything is meant to be.
Author notes
It's rough, it's written on a moment's notice. The important thing is; I'm going to miss him, and I've loved him since I met him, not that he could ever love a girl like me.
