In 24 Hours

Another birthday in 24 hours
no one will be present,
forget about presents
as if any one could be bothered

It is rather sad
having to make your own cake
rather be alone,
than surrounded by impersonating fakes

That special dinner homemade,
this man dines alone
homemade pizza from scratch,
and German chocolate cake

So,where are the siblings?
Too busy with their own lives
forgetting the bonds,
that hold a family together

When it was your special day,
your impersonating husband
kept you out of the way
trying to control you
and humble you,
like some third world battered wife

And if you ever read these written words,
you'd dismiss it all as rather absurd
but all I would say,
is that the truth really hurts

When it cuts straight to the bone,
these impressions tend to last forever
get on with your self absorbed life,
you said 'never',yet  you happily sever

Destroying connections that should be life long,
oh, he's over reacting, bi-polar,high strung
But that's where you have got it completely wrong
too past the point of:
'Can't we all get along?'
