I'd never let that happen
And I've seen just how it goes
Through first hand encounters
Not everybody knows
So why in all the world
Would I want to mess my mind
I thought it through so carefully
Just one too many times
No one tried to pressure
That was obvious to see
So what went on that night
We all know that's not me
I was completely sure
That I was not the kind
That wakes up in the morning
My conscience hard to find
That night may have been better
If I'd let my head stay clear
That feeling always goes away
Why can't actions disappear
So why is this the way it goes
Because I'd do it again
Despite the days I wonder how
I could let this happen

Really love these stanzas, and the sentiment therein. It's just wrought with the frustration of human nature. Well done.

stunning
I absolutely loved this! I thought this could be adapted to any form of temptation. And at the end it made me sigh ' despite the days I wonder how I could let this happen again.' A reminder we are all human. Realitively easy to cross the line into sin it is harder to come back from it. loved it. thanks for entering great rhyme too! good luck!
