Dark Pools

Blow out the candles, sink in this time
Your fingerlike daggers run down my spine
Your cool lips add to the chills
We all know that love can kill
It’s the preeminent pill for the ultimate thrill
But still, the claws of passion make you wince
One more time to commit this crime, so tense
Words from the captivating stranger
Soft touch to soothe the anger
The burning seams are close to bursting
But these dark wings keep you forever thirsting
For more, the only thing that sates the hunger
We all know you can never escape the sorrow
When the ones you love are the ones you borrowed
No one is ever truly yours forever
Never underestimate the hearts of the clever
Dark pools that slowly pull me in
Getting lost in your eyes is where it begins
And it’s where it will never end
Some things last forever, roses burn together
And even though the petals descend
Your thorns will always pierce my skin

This really has a lot of inner emotion to the words. I kind of like the scattering of the rhyme, it is different. But I think you can tweak this a bit to make it flow a little smoother; some lines just seemed abrupt and choppy to me. I like it overall though.
