a metaphor for four

lucy and alice went on an adventure.

they went to touch the gold.

and all along,

trot trot, trot trot
they found a dead sparrow
in the road.
this dead bird was without
a heartbeat. his eyes were
shiny black. and without a glance
lucy and alice went along their
sodden track-filled alley.
juxtaposed, another little tweet
caught their eye. a babied thing
poised next to a rusty can.
"this should be recycled!" said
little lucy and she kicked it
far into a garage. alice signaled her
to be quiet, and they watched.
a young man was hiding in the garage.
he was sullen and with skin
the color of leather; he looked at the
can. the girls tossed a rock at him

and ran away.

they never saw him again.

also, this may seem a pointless story.
