You told me I was special
You told me you'd never do anything we did
With anyone else
(that proved to be a lie)
Yet as I sit next to you
Seeing all the pain that's on your face
All you can muster
As an excuse for everything
Is that I'll be gone in a year
That's too soon for you?
If I could
I would probe the depths of your mind
Keep digging till I find out
The reason why
I wasn't good enough
Was I?

Slam dunk!
THis is awesome. -
this could be such an important statement of the ending reason for most relationships if only it were structured better.
Lack of punctuation lets it down greatly, just because one uses a line break does not mean that the reader can assertain the meaning for the pause.
Exclamation marks Question marks and full stops esist for a reason! -
Lovely

Yet we love
We often ask ourselves and we often get no answer. -
If you weren't good enough for him,
It means you were too good.
I know this message is confusing,
So let me know if it's misunderstood.
