Sweet Seductions

Spiders webs
Once ensnared me.
Death  was
My only friend.

Nothing else mattered.
No penance i could pay,
Would ever be enough
To cure the pain I felt.

Alone in freezing,
Ice shared waters,
My very breath
I no longer wanted.

In the bowls of earth,
Is where my best friend now laid.
How was I to move on,
Carrying with me what she taught?

Freezing summers passed,
As did the sweltering winters.
Never one making a dent
In my depth of darkness.

Till light shown
On my self made tomb.
In reached a hand,
Soothing the wrinkles of time.

Gentle  was his touch,
Sweet were his soft words.
Then all at once,
Tears of sincerity fell from my eyes.

Never did I think
These feeling would rise from me again.
Yet his essence, his kindness,
Melted the walls I had built up over time.

How could a Dark Goddess
Of pain and destruction,
Go from a realm of brutal darkness,
To a realm of delighted darkness and delicious sin in one moment?

What can take a withered rose,
Torn and tattered, no hope of living
And with one drop of sweet rain,
Revive into a intoxicating flower of splendorous beauty?

It is amazing how you can take a broke and battered soul,
With time, kindness, and sweetness,
Take it from a shell and make it into
A perfect red rose, for all to admire.

Beautiful? It's marvelous, a romantically inclined solitude that sometimes gothic attraction can't do much better than this. It's like the rebirth of the rose, which sometimes, sounds fantastic to think that it would symbolise many things that seem to raise one's hopes that all is not lost. Missed you. Tony
