The warmth on my face, as the sun beats down,
The joy of your smile, replacing a frown,
The tickle of rain, as it runs down my back,
And seeing the hope, peering out of the black,
These feelings are golden, these moments untouched,
Like a beautiful painting, all coloured and brushed,
Like the wind in my hair as I stand and think,
Like the sun in my eyes, as I stand and blink,
The meaning of life, if just this is enough,
It's moments like these, that smooth out the rough,
Simplicity is, simplicity does,
But more like my life, simplicity was...
Please tell me what you think

Brought back to mind the heady days of youth, running through the forest, the fishing hole. If but for a moment, the gunfire from the next block over seems not to be such a bother.
Peace

Wooh! I absolutely love that ending. It's enough to be a bit jealous over
I love how everything is in rhyming couplets, but it's not forced and keeps good flow.
