A breeze stirs the still waters of my mind
Reaching places I’ve previously tried to find
Who am I? Why am I here?
These are the questions which constantly appear
The world is big enough yet still there must be more
If I could only find the key maybe I could unlock the door
What’s hidden beyond? What magic would I find?
If I started to find answers for the questions in my mind,
Surely we are naive to believe we are the only ones
In this whole mass of time and space
To think we are the only ones
Worthy of living in this place
I mean why would it be us we are nothing remarkable it’s true
Were born we live and die but everything else does to
So what makes us so special to believe there’s nothing more
These thoughts go round and round it makes my mind sore.
There are a few like me who do believe there’s something else that’s clear
But they think of aliens and that’s not at all what I think, it’s not even near
I believe in Mother Nature and the things I can touch and see
But why cant there be someone somewhere thinking the same as me
We are such a small corner of the world as we know it
Maybe somewhere beyond our stars there is someone who could show it
Looking beyond their stars wondering what we see
When we look into our space and time at all the possibilities.
Maybe they hold the key in the palm of their hands
And there just waiting for a time when we can all understand
