Life's Sounds

what difference chirping of chicks in their nest;

a new child's cries for bottle or breast?
there's no contrast seen anyone might contest.

soprano's pitched aria to wiporwill's call;
orchestra's pounding against woodpecker's awl?
each a mixture that could any mind enthrall.

city's jungles that screech, dump-trucks, buses, loud cars;
nature's jungles, wild monkeys, ape screams, lion's roars?
change in venue aside, jungles ride to tied scores.

oceans' waves against beaches or mashed against rock;
rush hour traffic of subways, speed lines chasing clock?
if it's contest you're seeking these sounds interlock.

Earth is all tied together by fire, wind and rain
Nature ever expressing men's challenges; pain
Each depending on other's unique voice to remain.

    a beautiful arrays of music..you created a symphony with nature's sound...nice take on the prompt..your stanzas are vivid with imagery and lovely flow!

    oceans' waves against beaches or mashed against rock;
    rush hour traffic of subways, speed lines chasing clock?

    love those two lines!

    The sounds of life are never in conflict or competition with each other, they are simply there Great little poem with a pleasant rhythm making enjoyable reading.

  • Wow you certainly covered a cacophony of sounds in this. Jumbled in my mind made me realise how many there really are! Not that I didn't knowbut when you read something like this, it's an interesting reminder that maybe I'm not taking enough notice of life at times
    Excellent poem.
    Best wishes with this
