Future

What is a future?
What does it hold?
Minutes or years.
Stories to unfold.

Plans and dreams,
are only that.
Wishes and whims,
falling flat.

What do I wish?
To hold my child,
for one more moment,
peaceful and mild.

To see her happy.
To watch her smile.
To travel life together.
To share a mile.

Futures are stolen,
hopes built then shattered.
Dreams are destroyed,
none of it matters.

The human condition,
to wish, dream for more.
Focus always on 'future'.
The present left poor.

The human condition indeed. To be taught that good is better then evil and family comes first. I like yourt style. Welcome to AP and happy writing.
