Body bruised and beaten,
eroding more each day
Crushed by life’s most wicked fate,
starting to decay
Feelings shattered, splintered dreams,
dust now fills her soul
The woman in her melts away,
as she’s losing all control
Her confidence is sullied,
like the letters of her name
Torn now limb from limb,
from their heinous little games
Sorrow is her only friend,
as torment sings her song
The epitaph a sad lament,
fur suffering so long
Hope has closed the only door,
and thrown away the key
Thick blackness slowly covers her,
until she cannot see
In the end a salty lake,
where no one stops to pause
No tender kiss, no strong embrace,
a silent last applause

Remarkable take on the prompt. I love the form of your poem and the rythem and rhyme are beatiful.
Nice and dark yet full of truths for lots.
Very nicely done, thank you for entering and best of luck to you
