The garden, long deserted
Had returned to natures care
It's beauty now breathtaking
No other could compare
The lawns were trimmed off neatly
By the wild deer that now roamed
The wind then took the dead leaves
It looked like they'd been combed
The stream had made it's own path
Through mossy coated rocks
Bursts of colour sprang out
From marigolds and flocks
Once sparsely planted daffodils
Had spread to carpet gold
The oak tree in the centre
Stood majestic, tall and bold
Now huge imposing gunnera
Had formed a passage deep
Whilst the willow by the lake
Continued still to weep
This natural growing paradise
Mocked gardeners and their toil
The plants here need no pruning
Just sun and rain and soil
What did you think

Welcome to AllPoetry!
This is a beautiful poem
I really love the smoothness and the rhythm of this piece - the rhyme is excellent
the whole concept of the garden not needing humans to grow is lovely
