mj.

they tell me you've gone,
they tell me that this is it.

fumbling,
mumbling
and i am trying to make sense of those whispers
that say angels are carrying you.

i keep breathing and try to find my place without you.
keep breathing,
how am i going to do this without you?

one girls promise.
you are the spark in my eyes
and those are the ones i will see the world through,
growing, learning and absorbing the warmth,
soaring and touching those skies,
until eventually
i reach your angels.

you see you are my present,
a gift, in me forever.
i will keep you alive.

"if you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change"

Author notes

despite not being a huge mj fan, i re-wrote something a friend wrote about mj. and this is it. my words, her feelings.

this is her original version:

They tell me you’ve gone
They tell me this is it.
I’m trying to make sense of this world without you
I’m trying to find my place without you
But how, how am I going to do this
Without you?
I promise to always see the world through you
To always absorb my aura in your light
I want now more than ever to touch the skies with my might
Because that’s where you’ll be.
They tell me you’ve gone
They tell me this is it.
You’re here more than there
This is now, not then.
Present tense will keep you alive
Will make me soar, and dive.

  • the weirdest thing michael jackson has ever done is die. I was a huge fan of him when I was little and I'll admit he had a GIANT impact on music so I was a little gutted when I heard about it. recently I've been watching his music videos and god was he a fox back in the day, thriller, oh my. and now I wish I could find a dance class that specialized in dancing like him and learning the routines in his music videos. that'd complete my life.

I thought this was a sweet tribute and think you did a fantastic edit for your friend. also great use of lyrics at the end. it fit in flawlessly with what you were expressing and just made the impact of him so much more defined and real.

    wonderful job.

I agree with the fox part me and my mum were watching the music channels that decided to endlessly dedicate themselves to him, but we were both saying how attractive he was and such good moves, he just looked like such a natural.
and those lyrics are great, whatever people think he did, he held such strong views and really did want to and did change the world.
      miss you!
