These thoughts I pen onto the page
are born of a mind all-together strange,
these words, these machinations of mental gears -
here, the fine borderline smears
between the imaginary and tangible planes
of existance, and the chains
of reality no more bind
this rather unconventional mind,
nor can it tame this darkened heart,
of which poetry is art.
Author notes
I once drew a picture involving the quote, "Poetry is the art of the unconventional mind," scrawled with dripping ink onto a wall with a quill. I rather liked the quote I came up with, so this is what came of it.
