July is the distilled lake
where reflections of green pixelate
in watercolored mirage;
sky looms large
Cypress trees
unruffled by breeze
compose the serene heart.
Night heron and me
hide in a corner of the scene
on bended knee
Grateful, welcoming
this tender time
of gold, lavender
and orange clime.
