If You Gave Me A Sunflower (7/2/09)

Missing image
If you gave me a sunflower
I'd put it in my hair
For all to see
How you truly care

Its fragrance a reminder
Of the kindness you bestow
Its color
A representation of your natural glow

When the wilting begins
I'll put in a frame
Hang it on my wall
For a memory it became

If you gave me a sunflower

The opening of this poem is gorgeous I really like the emotion that you have used and the way you have expressed it - the only thing is that the rhythm is disrupted a little by the uneven line lengths in the next stanza - but that is just a small thing and overall I enjoyed reading this thank you for entering!
