I hear voices flickering in my mind
rushing past in echos whispered sublime;
taunting me with promises, always inside
I let them in, no need to hide
The voices, the voices, in my brain
tickling my dreams again and again

with them the fun never ends
Sometimes they tease me and tell me things
like who’s my enemy, who comes with strings
Whenever they speak I look around
the voices never let me down
The voices, the voices in my mind
telling me stories evil and kind
The voices, the voices, they're my mates
with them challenge never abates
Once one told me ~ jump off a roof
I found it strange and quite aloof
The others heard and told her off
the voices protect me when new ones scoff
The voices, the voices, sing my song
they're with me all day long
The voices, the voices, my own band
with them life is grand
Do you hear them? Can't you hear them?
You can't hear their mind scan?
Too bad ~ they told me to do something
and you're part of the plan!
Don't run away, I'm not completely insane
I just want to eat your brain!
Then I'll have your voices too
and we can all be together!

i love it! It's taunting almost, and the madness is truly poetic and beautiful. You almost poke fun at yourself but not in a way that the poem is funny. Great blend here. I love the rhyming, even the rhythm of the lines was a little kooky (in a good way). Great piece. I absolutely loved reading it. Worthy of the silver trophy. Wonderful job!

Thats funny! I love your rhyme scheme and the echoing of "the voices, the voices." Its really great. Just one spot you may want to check. In the 6th stanza the 2nd and 4th lines seem a little short on syllables. But thats my only criticism. other than that, Graet Job and Hillarious!

This is an amazing write that is dark, a bit saddening but Funny. When you can comically combine these emotions into one write, and have if flow so brilliantly. You know you're amazing.
Not to mention the way that it's written, somewhat reminds me of a childrens book. So, it seems as a little girl herself would be saying this..Ya know?
