From the world past hope and fear,
I bid you, Genie, now appear!
As mortal men have come and gone,
And you live on, we wonder how.
I give you, Genie, freedom now!
Past drink and food, you wait for this,
And bide your time in bottle, breathless.
All in all, you live on, deathless!
Cyclops and dragons shall bow to thee.
The dark arts hold no sway to yours.
Griffins and sirens all call you lord!
Of the riches known, of those we wish.
Gold, silver, and jewels are your trade,
Of thinnest air, these things are made!
With platters of figs and baskets of dates,
A minted lamb shall be our rest.
Myrrh and frankincense are your breath!
For three wishes I ask of you now.
The Plane of Air issue you forth,
And may your service prove of worth!
Author notes
I have taken the first verse from The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, which served as the entire summoning of the genie from his lamp. By this, I have only gotten my start, having labored with great challenge to work twenty lines in all.
Having taken a part from the Sinbad movie, I will not accept any payment from this poem at any time, now or in the future. I forfeit all profit that this might offer. This poem serves as art for art's sake, a pure intention.

Great Piece! You have created a beautiful picture of the riches men so desire, yet sadness for the Genie who is slave to all who possess his lamp, I am glad Sinbad set him free!!!!
I loved the 7th Voyage of Sinbad. Mythological and Fantasy movies are some of my favorites but 2nd behind Horror.
