Waves crashing on the shoreline,
as the rain clouds fill the sky
Everything his father taught him,
the same look is in his eye
To spend his time out fishing,
be it rain or bright sunshine
There is nothing more fulfilling,
no time spent that’s more divine
Tonight he’ll bring home dinner,
trying to help dear mom and dad
Grown up way beyond his years,
a little man not just lad
As they sit around the table,
telling stories of their day
The biggest smile will be about,
the one that got away
