Dark Before Light

A devilish darkness encompasses, it consumes,
A feeling of terror, over-shadowing the day,
Deep set paranoia sadistically looming over,
Anguish burning like the coals of hell, all content to stay.

Alone in the shadows, nowhere to run,
Fear of the dark, suffocating my struggling mind,
Trapped inside a twisted necropolis of nightmares and dreamscapes,
Heart, body and soul so numb, this life is cruel, it is unkind.

No hope for escape, giving into primal fear
In the corner, fetal position, nought left but to cry,
The pain, unbearable, pinned against the wall,
A silver blade shimmers, do I end it now? Am I going to die?

A warmth, a soothing glow from the skies,
A fracture in the dark, the demons running scared,
Angels laying siege to the gates of hell,
Reaching out to help a friend ensnared.

Brilliant light, a gentle breeze swirls,
Majestic scenery, dazzling wildlife, a moonlit lake,
A rustling, a turn of the head, she stands right there,
Breathtaking, beautiful, smiling, what my eyes comprehend cannot be fake.

Deep blue eyes on either side connect,
A spark, embracing each other, a moment unwilling to caese,
Lips locked, a heavenly kiss, an eternal hold,
Saved from dark, to enjoy this moment, for once...I feel at peace.
