The wonderful thing about failure
Is, it's really a kind of success:
I decided to breed a new dahlia
And got in a bit of a mess.
The flower I tried to engender,
Was to bloom in a shocking new hue
But instead it just went on a bender
And strangled my puppy-dog, too.
You see, I had bred a new flower
Which walked, triffid-like, on its own
With plenty of muscular power
And a liking for muscle and bone
A carnivore, not for a border
But more for a roam through the wood
Where it spread much mayhem and disorder
By moonlight, which wasn't too good.
So as a result of my failure
I've had much success, feeling groovy
For my dahlia has gone to Australia
To star in a new horror movie.
Please do not be frightened of error
Your downfall may make you rise high
Many folk are attracted by terror
And ours is not to reason why.
What did you think

This reminds me of the time someone planted a pumpkin in the flower border and we named it "The vine that ate Cleveland", despite the fact that we lived in Chicago. I particularly enjoyed the fact that your lively Dahlia got herself a starring role! And who knew?

You, see you, your dahlia is only a wee bit scary!! It's only acting..... I know it's just a daisy really.
This was utterly perfectly formed and so funny. You make me smile..
Thanks honey! xx
