A title that we wear so proudly
But was never quite enough
To explain what we are to each other
After going back and forth
Between a relationship and friendship

We've used too much energy
Trying to remain just friends
So as time goes by
We break down more of the rules
Of what friendship is
And head back into relationship
Even though your not single
We are changing together

For no matter what our title is
That is where you belong
And as we break down the walls

Whether we are friends
