Funerary Wedding

Bride of Death

Where are you Death, my definite destiny?
You are so close and yet unattainable for me.
Come to me in a handy moment.
Do not fail me like all have done.
When I am in your pursuit you evade me.
And when I am in need of you,
distant you are from me.
Where are you providence of mine?
I know we are destined for each other.
Many a time I tried others so-called lovers,
Dancing for the eternity with a darling
truly loving me and giving to me
waltzing with him on tolerance tunes
a stable dream of mine, in the cabaret of life.
I tried and strived with open heart but miserably failed.
Perplexing is the game of love, to me so formless.
I give up but I will give in peacefully to our union.
I will be the bride of death as you will be more
charitable with me than others.
You will cuddle me for the perpetuity
But in our union and flight with you
I wonder,
how many would celebrate my death
The same number who did not celebrate my existence,
more? or less?
I am the bride of death.

    awesome!

    Hi there,
In a few words, you sketched it so well. A real snapshot… dark but so full
Of Life, of mysteries … of Beauty.
And in a nutshell, you did pretty well saying so much about it...
Life is but a step towards it... sweet surrenders whether it is summer or fall…
An End, the End: the scent of it all...
Dark yet bright so bright, the abyss of all dreams, of all hopes…
The eternal call from nowhere, to somewhere,
The endless End, the End of all Ends...
Earth is too small a place,
All in all, fading like flowers we are…
    Painful is the existence
    Perishable is the body...
    Eternal is the Soul…
    Fear no fear my Dear…
    You; the wisdom Queen…
A Nefertiti revisited embracing her wandering Soul…
Long Live the Soul, long live the Queen.
Yes, the queen of all senses!
    The encaged perfume of Life,
    The Essence of it All…
What is life, if not shared out by Us All...

    Thank you Nermin…

  • very beautiful poem..i like any ode to death and i wrote before an ode to death..ur poem reflects a true thing in life when u want death u feel it is so far and suddenly while u r not waiting it will take u...good work

    • My dear thank you so much for your kind words

unfortunately it is the dark side of life or let us not say life but the end of it and celebrating a new beginning with death, a truth and non ending life, but in different form unknown to us that is why we are scared of it, maybe we are right maybe we are wrong. Sometimes even life does not give in to us so we demand death but it is fated and comes at the moment it decides, never when we want it, it could even come when life starts smiling at us.
Well take care my friend and thank you dear. I will read yours

  • I like the concept of the piece. I've always wondered what it would be like to talk to death (that's how you start the piece... pleading him not to evade)

However, somewhere, I think you lost a voice on it.

This is good, don't get me wrong. I just see the potential for more. I hope you aren't offended by me saying so. What would you say to death? What would you say if you really wanted him like the bride (who has an eternal commitment to him) of death? What is that longing for that something? What would you say to Death to ensure him that you are willing to submit completely-- physically, mentally, emotionally...?

A good piece, a good concept... I just feel that your voice is stronger than this and maybe not with this piece but a new one you should discover and uncover that strong voice.

    Thanks for the good read

    • Maybe I sounded like losing my voice because I really lost it, in a moment I was willing to submit but deep inside I was really sorry for myself and did not wish to be his bride, although eventually we are to die, but where is that eventual. I will try to answer those questions in another piece.
Thank you for reading it and commenting on it and being so positive about it and opening my eyes for more and on probing my mind's depth.

      • anytime. this whole place is designed to help each other grow. good luck. let me know if you ever write that piece. i'd like to see it

  • Oh how I understand the dance with death and how elusive it is. You did a great job on this and thank you for using me as an inspiration. I am honored. I have personal dances with death each and every day and it too is elusive from me

    • OH MY GOODNESS THANKS

I do not really like to write dark poetry, but I have got some nevertheless. This one I pictured myself The Bride of Death, I have a few photos with a Wedding dress, and looking so deeply at them suddenly hit me this feeling and I wanted to cry but I realized that our destiny eventually is this....
      thank you so much
