Europe`s Smallest Cathedral

On the wee Island of Cumbrae
(You can go there for a day)
It is only less than five miles long
so there`s really no need for you to stay.
Its in the estuary of The Clyde
no place for criminals to hide.
It has no heather covered Peak
but in another way unique
its cathedral has a special place
for those in need of help and grace.
It may be small, it may be wee
but its welcome`s there for you and me.

Please tell me what you think

Sounds idyllic, most pleasant and peaceful, your words convey that.
    Regards.

  • Very nice. I am not familiar with the location which probably makes it seem a bit magical. It has the feel fo close by and easily reached. That gives it a special place in the world of "Cathedral" type locations. Often they are so big and magnificent that one feels swallowed up by them when a true catherdral should have a special intimate feel to it.

I like where your poem took my mind's eye.

goes to show that no matter what size or strength something is, it can still help.
