Fear

Fear of loosing all she said,
Fear of loosing none,
Fear to stand alone she cried,
Fear what I've become.

Subtle hints in shadows,
Whispers in the night,
Whispers could be cries she said,
He'll never know my plight.

"And what if I'm mistaken?
He could've laid all bare,
What I am too proud to hear,
He's not too pale to share?"

The fruit I must not touch,
My fingers yearn to clutch,
I wait until lost light,
Just I and the night.
