The Hurtin' Feeling

I look outside when you walk by
the torment's born anew
I tell myself I will not cry
I wish it could be true

I'm full of emptiness inside
the pain swells in my heart
the agony infecting me
is tearing me apart

I keep saying this will fade away
I'll leave it all behind
it's harder with each passing day
the pain's the lingering kind

still I'll try again tomorrow
hope miracles are real
and I'll overcome this sorrow
or learn how not to feel

    wonderful

Wow, a very creative and well expressed write. And so filled with a sense of power over the sorrow, yet hoping miracles come. Thank you for sharing.

as the feeling linger the pain is real
to hide them would make us still feel
but in time maybe they will fade
this is all we can wish for this day
this is painful ..fell of emotion
    so well penned hugs Angel♥

My heart breaks reading this ~
it makes me feel so blue
to think a heart so full of love
could have so much to rue

    Happiness, so much like wind,
    unseen, still stings the eyes
    because a wayward playfulness
    may don a thin disguise

    And holds the heartbeat ransom
    where shadows take a toll
    chain all wings with teardrops
    until roses petal soul......

... it's just a touch of dew on my cheek! Poignantly powerful write, my friend.

  • This is very lyrical. A sad song for a sad day with sad memories, you have written this so well. Learning not to feel is a noble ambition, alas, easier said than done.

  • it is passiveness, not quite not feeling
but not relying on joy or love to come to you from outside yourself, this is where pain comes from.
going to the moon was considered impossible, this too is considered impossible.
we can not truly perceive this without thinking ourselves to be unfeeling, but letting go is done with feeling, it is loving yourself first
your rhyme is just perfect as usual my friend.
    full of emotions
    God bless you my friend...
