My Kitten Died. Not a poem.

My kitten died last night. My dog, Shadow (well not really mine, they both belong to the family, but anyways) doesn't like the cat. And the cat likes to play. In the night, we keep the kitten in my room with the door closed so she doesn't create a ruckus. I closed the door and went to sleep. Then I woke up around 7:20 this morning, and I was wondering why she hadn't been meowing at me all night. I got up, and the door was wide open. I am thinking either I didn't close it all the way, or at midnight when my dad went to work, that he came in to say goodbye or something. Or maybe I had to go to the bathroom in the night, I have no idea. But anyway, the door was wide open, which means the kitten is not in the room anymore. I left the room and walked over to my dad's room, he was at work, but my step-mom Amy was still sleeping there. Amy's deaf. I looked on the floor and there was the kitten, in a pool of blood. There was blood all over the floor and the door, the dog's bed, and even a little on Amy's bed. Since she's deaf she must have not heard the fight. We're 99% sure that the dog killed her. The kitten had a hurt part of her head... I can't really describe it well, without making you throw up and all. But I woke up Amy and told her there was blood and the kitten was dead. She was so surprised. She cleaned up the blood and put the kitten in a box and we're going to bury her. I just don't see how this cute little kitten who was full of energy just a few hours before could be dead. And the worst part was all the blood. I was sobbing, literally sobbing, for the first half an hour, and then I went on a walk for a little over an hour, and I just got back, and I'm still breathing funny. It was terrifying.

  • That is so sad.

I now how it feels to lose a pet. I have had lots of pets die before. One for my dogs died kind of like your cat did, but he died of natural causes. I will never be quite the same since my dogs died. This may seem weird, but my animals are like my children, I love them more than anything in the world. I am so sorry about your kitten. I know how you feel.

I'm sorry to hear this. It's never easy to lose a pet. It's good you can talk about your feelings in your writing. That's healthy.
In spite of the sadness, thanks for sharing.
