  • A mathematical formula---somewhere...

Distance was the rate at which she fell. Silence was at the bottom of the stairs. Either that or she was just clumsy. Some people read themselves right into your poems. See how much comes from your few words? Inspiration, W, that's what it all about! (As for me, I don't really know what this poem is about, so I made something up.) This was probably profound, and I just missed it (the meaning of the poem, that is).

It is a generic piece, born of much experience, so yes, you can fit yourself right in there, for when you withdraw your attention you'll leave a big gaping hole (and I'll come begging for more, of course...)
and holy Kodak Moment- your new pic is 'bombshell'- you'll hit 100 hungry wolves saying your name, 'Jane', like they wish you were theirs, before the month is out...! (I just hope they don't all drive you away)...

      • The 100 only run away

You say funny things sometimes, W (some intentional no doubt). No men say my name. It's quite the opposite reaction. They see what I look like, assume I am "taken" or too vain to talk to them, so they run away! I've never seen so many men run so fast! So even here on site, they look---and run away! Such irony. Men who never speak to me, and a husband of 20 years who left me because I am too old! Well, at least you always make me smile, so I chose a smiling picture.....don't have too many of those!

          I agree and disagree-

I must agree (and thank you for) your hard-won insight- about men running away when they see intelligence and beauty, thinking it is beyond their clumsy, boyish grasp... (and I am not above them); such is the cost of 'living in a surface world' (hey, nice title for a future piece)... but... (and now to disagree)...

I have hard evidence that men say your name here, in fact, my comment was based on that very observation... (OK, maybe it was just one, but I can see a trend when I spot it...! )

Well, I don't want to make you laugh or think too hard while you are in traction... so get well soon, so I can resume...

          your new friend,
          Wayne

  • huzzah.

  • you always did spin an image well with just a few words.

it's been a few years, but i'm glad to see that you're still around this place. I do hope you're well.

I'm glad to see these little bits of verbal souffle. Soft, delicate, complex in their own right. Thanks for the read
