Say Goodbye To Your Face

Tonight I'll try
To find my sympathy
But you're faceless
And it makes me laugh

Deep in the jungle
I hide, waiting to pounce
But then I see you're faceless
And I roar with laughter

I tied your shoelaces
I watched you fall over
I laughed as your face rolled away
You're such a faceless fool

I picked up your face
I set it alight
I watched all the presumptions
Go up in flames

You have no face
Now you cannot judge
But I can laugh
As you're faceless

Loved it. Faceless they fade into the night

  • This made me laugh. It'skinda sadistic to laugh but it still made me laugh lol

  • Well, they are faceless. I liked the first lines. I get what you're trying to accomplish with this piece and I like what you're trying to do. However, I feel as though you would be more successful building on the fact that you are trying to be sympathetic to this person that can't save face.

Thank you for the read! I enjoyed.

    • yeah....

i think i have to disagree with you. it doesn't seem like they can't "save face" but more that they re being judgmental and showing it through facial expressions. Thus when they become faceless, they lose the ability to judge and belittle people. Why would anyone want to feel sympathetic to those that judge?

building off that. that you're trying, but that it is a hopeless effort. that is the strongest emotion. it just seemed too repetitive in a lot of areas. I was giving you the emotion that you expressed the best-- apathy towards this person. You said that you were trying to feel sympathy. That was the intention that I question. Why would you even consider being sympathetic. I think that was the most interesting image. You're right... why would someone feel sympathy for a judgmental person like this. But, that's how you open the piece. You know? That was the most curious part of this piece to me. To have those almost conflicting emotions-- the part of you that wants to believe in people wants to have sympathy-- then your logical side just laughs. And then for you to judge the judgmental. I just found this more a battle of emotions than a clear cut hit to a judgmental person. Again, my opinion, but that's how it comes across to the reader.
