Bowing To The Queen

Poetry is the concrete evidence that we exist,
validation delivered in the turn of poets wrist.

The queen of creativity at her very finest,
we bow as we address her as, "Your Highness".

She is the cure for bigoted blindness,
and catalyst to the complacent and mindless.

She wastes not time, nor superfluous words.
With her sweet cadence, lovers hearts are stirred.

Life is mediocre, without variety or change,
then poetry pulls beauty and light from mundane.

She never knocks or asks permission to enter,
as she compels you to spill your ink into her center.

When awakened by her mischievous muse,
best grab pen and paper, for there's no time to lose.

Your frantic scribbling, when you're weary and worn,
will most likely be, where true genius is born.

When inspired by poetic rhyme and reason,
turning away the Queen, would be considered treason.

Prompt - Quote by William Wordsworth:

"Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility"

ah the poet's wrist! it flicks creativity across language and eyes. my life is never mediocre, it is always swirling insanity, i never get a moment's peace, but that's okay, i like living on my broken toes.

Yes, this is how our poetical muses work. We never know when and where some of them will come to spill our ink to paper. Thank you.
