Life has a way of springing surprises,
Out of harmony, unease rises.
When we think we've found our nest,
Out of the blue, we're put to a test.
We think we have things the way they should be,
Life is perfect for all to see.
All laid out for a wonderful viewing,
All of a sudden, trouble is brewing.
Don't get so centered and wrapped up in self,
Things of importance get put on a shelf.
Forgotten and neglected are treasures so real,
Traded for items which to the eye appeal.
Because it glitters, does not mean it's gold.
As often new cannot replace the old.
Silver is lovely, but, tarnish it will,
There's much more to life than simply a thrill.
One thing I've learned in life that bears true.
You travel a road paved only for you.
You may often wander, try to find a new way,
They all come together to where you are today.
For God has a plan, He's had it for years.
He's heard your laughter, He's bottled you tears.
With love and great patience, He's stayed by your side.
So travel in faith and trust in your Guide.

great write
This was incredible write I loved it road is not easy especially when we're put to the test That stuck out like a sore thumb those are time we just want to run.It's so true we try to replace the old with the new.I loved this poem I think it is the best one I've seen here at ap in a long time and your words are simple and clear.great rhyme too!
