Fantasy Girl

You’ve got this whole idea
inside you’re handsome head
that there’s a perfect life
but you got me instead

I not some pretty lass
Always at your beck and call
I give you what I’ve got
But I can’t give it all

I hate to tell you this now:
This oyster ain’t got no pearl
This ain’t no fantasy world
And I’m not some fantasy girl

I told you from the start
How hard that it would be
How I’d demand respect
If you choose life with me

But when I dare to put
My own opinion in
You claim I’m diss’ing you
And that you just can’t win

I hate to tell you this now:
This oyster ain’t got no pearl
This ain’t no fantasy world
And I’m not some fantasy girl

I should have seen this end
When you fell in love with me
You looked at me like I
Was more than I could see

I wasn’t Martha Stewart
With a body made for sin
I never had the things
You somehow found back then.

I hate to tell you this now:
This oyster ain’t got no pearl
This ain’t no fantasy world
And I’m not some fantasy girl

I’m always going to be
Too loud, too bold, too brash
I’ll tell you what I think
Even if you think it’s trash

I’ll treat the man I love
With passion yes it’s true
But that doesn’t mean that I
Will ever bow to you.

I hate to tell you this now:
This oyster ain’t got no pearl
This ain’t no fantasy world
And I’m not some fantasy girl

I need more than you give
When you tell me who to be
you want the moon and stars
Instead of needing me.

I’ve never doubted that
My heart is strong and true
But I won’t loose myself
Because of loving you

I hate to tell you this now:
This oyster ain’t got no pearl
This ain’t no fantasy world
And I’m not some fantasy girl

My experience has been that you fall in love with a fantasy you have about a person. As time passes you get to see the real person and often what you see ain't that pretty. Real love is about real people. You have to get past the fantasy part before you make any big decissions.

    best of luck

  • I like it!!!
