The silent majority

you who stand reading,

thinking

yourself better

than other

shame on you!

turning the eye

covering the ear

when heart murmurs

deceit;

beguiled altruism

an uncomfortable gesture

hidden; then

taking your leave

in silence

    Excellent Poem

I have never tried this form before. You did it so well and with a wonderful message to our fellow man. To many turn a blind eye and have no compassion. It saddens to se it more and more each day. ?Thank you for the lovely read this afternoon. It is always a pleasure dear friend. Hugs and Smiles.

    Take care, Sandy

Very powerful is your insight into the human mind of thoughts. It is so true how so much of the time people are just into themselves and the pride they carry in comparing themselves to another. Brilliant poem Frans. So nice to read your work again. Best wishes my dear friend in the contest.

    Blessings,
    Much Love,
    Kelle Marie

Lampoons and satires don't preach - that is their redeeming quality. But you are free to post this on old Pasquino who shall withhold comment, too, while allowing the storm to brew!

      It's more

difficult than I thought, but thank for the comment, and for not disqualifying me. Blessings to you. Frans

  • Whoa!

Good one Frans. You nailed the 'silent majority' on the head here. I love the way you express this & its presentation. All the best in the Contest.

I have long believed that humility in an artist is a prerequisite quality. How else are we to ever improve? Let alone as a human being. A well-done piece, my Friend. Let those whose egos deceive them beware, as they will one day be left alone, with only their arrogance as company. Good luck in ea's contest, Scribe.

      I appreciate your

comments. My first 'lampoon', but I turned out to be a 'preacher'![lol] - will give it a go one day again. Blessings. Frans
