S...The Tunnel of Fallen Leaves

Missing image

God Bless...

as I walk through a beautiful green tunnel of nature

listening to the fallen leaves crumble under my feet

My thoughts are on the less fortunate

the lonely the invalids the old and the weak

Some set in small rooms of confinement

with only a window to peek

watching the healthy

run or jog down their street

Lucky am I to be able to smell the fresh growth of the woods

listen to natures voices sing out in rhythms beat

The birds the squirrels the frogs

all are Mother Natures treat

God Bless the lonely and less fortunate

and send them company

Someone with whom they can speak

let them relive their memories of their own

when they were well and living at their peak

Thank you Dear God for my healthy walk today

through the tunnel of fallen leaves

Soon I will be back out in the open spaces

in the brightness of all who believe

  • This is a well written and inspiring poem. "Listening to the fallen leaves crumble under my feet" was a good line but my favorite part was the last two stanzas.

this has very good ideas, the concept of humility and feeling of gratitude; so many things we take for granted in our lives in the world around us...wonderful...PK

    BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I love walking it woods on a dreary day sometimes! Even then one can see so much color and on the bright days so much more! I love the canopy above me which the sunshine filters through. 's
