Souvenirs

Missing image
Moon to Sun~
light shifts loyalties;
a plum beam peels the mist
off winter's face.

It hangs on the shoreline
and fresh dew drips
from the days' linen.

On this soundscape
of seagulls, salt
and the lighthouse...
we rolled up memories
and stars
from the lost night
on the beach.

Remember
that long walk home?
Our footprints in conversation,
punctuated by sand;
collecting coins of sunlight
from 'neath the leafy trees.

    a delightful story, the imagery shows the scene and the precous way time can be, in memory, very well done...PK

  • Beautiful images poetically written. Love the "coins of sunlight".

  • Our footprints in coversation
    Dear Poet,
    In the above, I wonder if you meant "conversation" or the play of footprints covering one another?
    Also, you need to go back to the rules, there is something needed in the Author's Notes.
    The prompt is from WB YEATS poem "statues"
    Your poem is lovely; will you please point me to your take on the prompt; apparently, I'm missing it in between such loveliness.
    Thank you for entering my contest: "Empty eyeballs know that knowledge increases unreality, that mirror on mirror mirrored is all the show."
    When you've designated the author note
    quote please im with title of poem and contest.
    until then
    best wishes
    and stay
    liquid
