This Too, It Shall Pass

The worst of this hell,
Is still yet to come
The most important love you lost,
Is the heart of but one

Your love for yourself,
Is the only love that need last
Yet I promise you this,
That this pain too, it shall pass

This pain, a mere inch,
While your life is a mile
I will hold you forever,
If i thought you might crack a smile

I've seen into your soul,
And your beauty brings a tear to my eye
I wish I could steal all your pain,
For my heart breaks when you cry

Please believe me, sweet girl,
I'll never let your heart grow cold
And if you need my friendship forever,
Then I'll love you till I'm gray fat and old

This reminds me of a Hebrew folk tale called "this too shall pass". I'm going to write my own version of it now.

  • This is a sweet loving poem. I hope everything works out for you
