Bedtime for the angels

The last night that I saw you, you tucked me into bed,
and that day we had found out that the cancer spread.
You told me not to worry that you would be just fine,
that I would understand if I just gve it some time.
You said it's bedtime for the angels, so your gonna drift on to sleep,
you told me you don't want to go but have to, then told me not to weep.
Then at the funeral, I walked over to where you lay,
and at first I thought I heard you say,
that it's bedtime for the angels, so your gonna drift off to sleep,
then I thought I heard you whisper you'd stay if you could and you didn't want me to weep.
Then that night I was layin in bed, wishin I had someone to talk to,
but that someone was always you.
And I know I heard you singing, It's bedtime for the angels, so baby just go to sleep,
you told me you were just fine then said darlin please don't weep.

  • beautiful,written with love...Leaf

  • Most of this flows very well. The first four lines are perfect, but in the fifth one, you might think about changing it to drift off to sleep. In the 6th line I would think about taking out the but I have to. Overal this is pretty good, Keep writing.
