I am the Land from which I breathe
It gives me all and satiates my need
My ancestors breath yearning deep inside
I stand upon mountains and see the great Spirit of all
Everything has the true spirits call
He gave me totems for to hold
and bravery beyond the bold
I exist within his great healing hand
A proud warrior in the greatest land
Remembering the stories of battles told
Now has come this modern way
Bought by whitemen dominate this day
I cannot live within their walls
For deep inside my true nature calls
But strong their influence around me grows
I take their drink and make it mine
Become a sadness to forget
Deep inside the battle goes on
but strong forces taken me beyond
and I am back in my true homeland
Warriors and Ancestors together proud we stand

In Australia our Koori tribes and indigenous peoples ...many of our young have been dispossessed by so called Western civilisation ...so I dedicate this poem also to them for the same syndrome happens over here many dying of drug and alcohol abuse
