I walked down to Melrose the other day
You wouldn't believe the shit people try to sell you
Dead flowers, child porn, pictures of god, and all the while
I thought of losing my mind to the chlutches of reality
Yesterday, I went down to the beach to have lunch;
blackend fish tacos, a Carona with lemon, (not lime) and salt
I love the waves crashing in and the smell of death It made me think of childhood friends
Lost in the shadows of night. Never seen, again.
This morning, I watched the news on some gangsters shooting
out windows of the library, down the street from my house
I couldn't understand the volition this sort of irony put forth
And I thought of my mother yelling at me for mowing the yard
But, I didn't think of you today, not even once

vivid images. i like the way you connect sense perceptions to your inner existence. sometimes it disturbs, but it's not entirely a bad idea to let reality cut across thoughts and feelings. congrats and best regards friend.

I think this is a very good take on the prompt. Losing your mind to reality is a very good line. I think I have felt like that too. Good luck in the contest.
