The turn of page,
The keys that fall and say:
“Sing away the broken heart
Of your yesterday,
And your regrets
Will come to ease
With every song you play.
For every note’s an anecdote
That laughed, until today."
Every note’s an anecdote
That laughed, until today.
Author notes
For the love of music, pianos, and the healing capabilities of their combined song...
Based off of Billy Joel's song "Souvenir."
I took the rhyme scheme, rhythm, and basic form and changed the words.
Don't go yelling at me, now, I did this for an English assignment, which said to do just that.
Thanks for reading.
Be as vicious as you like with it...

I enjoyed the wording, the depth of this. No favorite verse really - I liked them all, and they went together very well.
Nicely done.

I did enjoy the read not to fond of all lines starting off with the first letter capped and over use of punctuation in my opinion but none the less great read thanks for coming out and supporting our contest be well.

I like it. multo bene! I shoulda figured that the songs would start to enter your poetry!! you have got to be the most musical person I've ever met... and it's very good because we couldn't live without our musicians!!!! keep it up.

I actually started with writing songs, not poems. I only stopped because my band split up. Without Fail is the first song I've written in well-over two years. It's Mayday Parade inspired, actually...
Anyway, thanks for the claps! And that's damn right that you couldn't live without us!

Music
soothes the wounded heart.
This is a nice write that speaks of the process of healing involved in the performance & hearing of music!
