I'm Over You

I should have seen through you.
I should have known,
all you ever planned
was to use me.
My heart aches -
you were my soul!

But whenever I think of you
all I remember
is the slamming of the door.
You ran out,
leaving my heart ripped apart.

I guess we're really over now.
I'm trying to reattached my heart.
It's shattered,
left alone, broken.

I never saw this coming,
but now I know:
I'm better off without you
more than either of us knew.

Now I'm reattaching
the fragments of my heart
and I got over you.

I thought I'd never get past your heart break.
But now I'm over you.

  • That was great really well connected to the song itself. The poem is almost lyrical in and of itself not just a poem. Good job and good luck with the contest.
