I should have seen through you.
I should have known,
all you ever planned
was to use me.
My heart aches -
you were my soul!
But whenever I think of you
all I remember
is the slamming of the door.
You ran out,
leaving my heart ripped apart.
I guess we're really over now.
I'm trying to reattached my heart.
It's shattered,
left alone, broken.
I never saw this coming,
but now I know:
I'm better off without you
more than either of us knew.
Now I'm reattaching
the fragments of my heart
and I got over you.
I thought I'd never get past your heart break.
But now I'm over you.

That was great really well connected to the song itself. The poem is almost lyrical in and of itself not just a poem. Good job and good luck with the contest.
