My world has become a bowl of oatmeal
Mushy, one uniform texture and that same
Plain gray
The horizon blends the sea and sky
To the same ash-like color
Every now and again
I see a dull nicotine-stained yellow but
I wonder
If seeing that is worse
Than seeing no colors at all
Because she has just a hint of it
She just likes to make you think
She’s alive
When in reality she just makes
You realize you’re colorblind
But when I see you
The rods and cones in my retina
Are electrocuted
And my world of ash blurs
As your vibrant color is all I want to see

I like where the picture took you... it is amazing what we go without in life without even noticing. then when we get it... Oh my... then the fun begins along with fear and a whole spectrum of other emotions.
Well done. and thank you so much for your entry and your patience in my contest
Love,
Delila
