Man In the Mirror

His reflection is the one we saw onstage,
a modern marvel of entertainment in this day of age.
Michael was a star since he was nine,
reality became hard, for him to find.

He was on the outside looking in,
for the real world puzzled him.
His fame was a cage with golden bars,
trying to be the best created his scars.

Trying to find a friend,
who loved him within,
proved to be impossible,
people wanted a piece of him.

He retreated to a world,
a world of Peter Pan.
A failure from the start,
because he was a man.

Maybe he was innocent,
from all his scandal,
fame is difficult,
for anyone to handle.

Alone in his fame,
caused him pain.
The pain of his life,
caused his strife.

He was accused,
of very bad things,
and angered the adults,
with very bad results.

Numbing his pain,
was all in vain.
His music was great,
which sealed his fate.

A singer a dancer,
we can never understand.
people broke his heart,
they've torn him apart.

He was always meek,
he became so weak.
Because of his death,
his fans now weep.

A tribute to a man who was so unique. .   .

I think you captured him quite well!!

  • He certainly was a very misunderstood man. I would venture to say his lack of a real childhood sent him into the "weird" personality he later gained. Your poem is great, it really pays homage to the great entertainer and gives a great perspective.

SO TRUE AND TO THE POINT!!!

We may never know the true story behind his troubles but as Andy Roddick put it in a after match conference as he was asked about Michael , even with the scandal which we don't know if true he was revolutionary in his music. You and him have overlooked the scandal and seen his heartache and pain for what he accomplished in life. 's

A wonderful tribut to a shooting Star, this poem describes it all, the pleasure and the pain. I'm sure his spirit will be well accepted among the Angels
