The sun said goodbye, the night said hello,
You grabbed my skeleton hand, and said: "Let's go",
And we walked down the road of glamour, eternity and adulthood,
Talking like the world would end if we stopped,
Sweet smiles and hysterical laughs, we were so young and faithful,
Words like existence, responsibility and control were smoked up in the sky,
Along with alcohol, cigarettes and stuff we'll never mention,
We were messed up, crazed to the bone,
A deep glance into my eyes, a steady hold on my hand,
Because you knew I'd never dare to ask for more,
Louder and faster, a bass turned up so loud,
Jumping up and down, lying to the microphone,
I had to learn the lesson, so here I am,
Just a little more grown up, a little wiser, and much more heartbroken,
I was told everything has an end, good as bad, long as short,
With the words of goodbye still echoing in my already foggy head,
I tried to climb down the ladder, but must have fell off and hit my head,
Wrote a million fairytales of fair knights on white horses always saving the girl,
I'm in a place some call home, having endless conversations with the wall,
Hypothetical action is all I take now, and I only face things if they're in my head,
Once in a while a smile and a hello chase away my clouds of melancholy,
Only to make me spend all day in a state of paranoia,
Waiting for the hello to transform into a goodbye, and the smile into a scorn grin.
Now I am trading memories for poetic phrases,
Desperately pushing the repeat button, 4:18 of delightful, dangerous drugs,
I start to shiver as I see my hand reach for you -
Stopping myself every time the dream takes me too far,
Afraid to loose foothold, afraid to loose my mind,
Just one more time, and everything will be okay,
I never needed a saviour before I met you.

This was a very good poem, the poet takes the reader on a journey through thoughts of the poet's life! Nicely written...
