Hearts warm and whole,
Friends that come and go,
Yet in this tale, there is a now and a time to reach out
If the caring hand had never been sent,
I'd never have known those that I do in this day
Friends that I care so greatly for, A chance on something else made today what it is
Two stories for you tonight
On how two friends of mine I did meet
On my own choice, a choice to reach out
Did you know,
My brother who I care for,
He and I were strangers years ago
On a game we met,
Through the texts and icons
One day he simply said, "Can anyone talk to me of the game?"
He was sad,
And in such pain,
Barely known without a thought,
I sent a reply,
It dared to say,
"I'm able to talk to you, so lets talk."
Oh the storms of drama,
How they ensued a choice,
One to take the hand of he who reached out,
Yet how could I regret
My dear Justin, How could I lament,
One who is a part of my soul, my world
Up and down we have gone
Through heaven and hell it seems,
A jungle of pain and choice these past few years,
So much to say,
A bond unbreakable,
Just for reaching out on night years ago...
And of the now
There is a girl I do know
We met by chance, an acquaintance till that day
Sure we spoke,
Sure we knew each other's faces
But not much more, often I'd forget her name
And yet on a day
She walked into class
Tears stained on her face
Coffee slipped on a drawing
That would be used in a contest
She might have won, but some jerk decided to ruin that
Still on that day,
Instead of ignoring tears,
Stood up and walked to her,
Calmed her down,
Chatted with her, and then sat with her everyday
A friend that has taken me places, shown me a new religion, a person who has made me see a different fate
From a day in sadness,
A friend I've made, who cares for me,
And will respect my every choice and failure
It was a moment of sadness
That turned to two great bonds
Even when the day comes for parting, I still have them now
Author notes
Two stories poetitised on how I met two very close friends. Gotta love being able to make a bad day into a wonderful friendship.
