prop 8

Court will rule
On the challenge
To give us our rights
To love who we love

Why do they even need to
Why should they have this authority
To say we can’t love
Unless it’s their way

These people have the power
To take away our freedom
With or without our input
To agree on what we want

Those that 8 effect
The minority
Have almost no say
In their own future

It makes no difference
So why do others insist
Over…and over
To cause us to suffer

And take away our lawful rights

What did you think

I'm sorry but I am totally flummoxed by this - what does "prop 8" mean?

I agree that this is prose broken into stanzas, but I think you get your point across well. Thank you for sharing this with us. I look forward to reading more of your writing.

Some people jump to conclusions when they don't understand, it don't make a difference to them. If they would open t5heir ears the would understand. Or they are scard to say they don't understand. Thank you for sharing

While this is broken up into verses to make it look like poetry it is really prose
Probably either use it as prose, or completely rewrite it as poetry using poetic devices
"8 effect" may work better as eight effect

a very interesting concept. I personally kinda say this as more a though, I have a couple of pieces which I have written that are still in this stage myself. But it's missing something. I'm not sure what I can suggest to you, but check out my piece from... to... and see what I mean. The point you are trying to get accross is exotensialy prominent. But this is poetry. and I agree wholeheartdly with your thought... thanks for sharing this with me, and I hope I helped you in some way. BTW, a majority may not know what * effect is...
