Remembering my children...

Missing image
Home from work..its been a long day
Daddy's home its time to play
Hold on kids..let me change my clothes
Must go for a pee...then blow my nose

We cant play long across in the park
Mums making tea and it'll soon be dark
After that you must all take a bath
Watch out kids...dont trip on the path

We run around the open field
Pretending to be knights with sword and shield
Or flying kites far into the sky
Watch out Dad...theres a plane passing by

Kicking a ball high into the air
Wow..thats a good kick Dad..its gone way up there
Now for a shot on the chutes and swings
Kids are laughing at different things

Tired and happy..filled up with fun
We are all heading home...had fun in the sun
Wish I could go to that park one more time
I would if I could but I cant make it rhyme

    Golden moments relived

    Somehow by just writing this poem you have relived these sunny, golden moments and have invited us to attend by sharing. (Did we get a little too vivid picture of dad when he first came home? Really, Dan, such imagery.) The picture captures the mood of fun in the sun for the family. I think you can go to that park one more time, even if it doesn't rhyme, it's alive in your mind.

      Well it was kind of a ritual...lol....and I do think it lends a little bit of authenticity to the proceedings...dont you think?....and yes of course I can go there anytime I want because these memories are locked away in the vast storehouse of my mind!...Dan xx

    BETTER MEMORIES ONE COULD NEVER HAVE!!!!!

    This is what life truly is all about, closeness of family, fun together, something which is fast becoming a thing of the past in this ol' world.
